So my store where I get my Clemmy O's did not have them so I went straight to the Dept. manager to inquire as to why. It appears another vendor took their place, but she said enough people buy them that they will have them back. She did show me the vanilla bean Clemmy's ice cream so I finally got to buy some! It was also on sale for 2.99 so it was a bonus! I have had a couple of spoon fulls 2 days in a row now with 2 of Dawn's PB cookies. What a luxurious treat!
I don't know if I am recovering from 5 days of no thyroid meds, or total stress about my husbands job situation, but I slept all day. I went to my room at 1:00 and came back down about 5:30 because my daughter had bought pizza for dinner. I am a little worried about myself, but I will snap back. If I am this stressed, I imagine my husband is 10x that. It is so far out of our hands that we can only hold our breath longer and pray that everything turns out. He is officially off work again on medical leave, but what kind of leave and how will his company respond? Will they fire him? Or put him on disability? So many unknowns and so many stresses. Seriously no one's problem but mine, so sorry to be Debbie Downer:( My kids have always just thought my husband will just pay for everything, which he does for the most part, but they always just tell me to get a job if you are so concerned. Hmmmm, me and millions of other's would love to get a job. That's another whole rant so we will leave that for another day.
Anyway, tomorrow is when I will start my getting ready for Hawaii month. I did go to Zumba today for the first time in 2 weeks. She had a 67 minute play list because Friday is her last morning of teaching. She is going back to school full time. I will miss her a ton because she is so inspiring. The other gals are OK, but just not the same. I survived 67 minutes of Zumba:)
My food is bad, my mood is bad, my weight isn't bad yet.....
Someone kick my ass off my pity train!
Here's to a Kick Rear September!!!! Cheers:)

Feeling tired:(
This is my oldest friend Shelley who lives in Sikeston Missouri. She is the only one of the 9 of us girls that moved away. We met the first day of 6th grade at 12 years old. 42 years later, I still love her tons!!! All of us girls went to Anthony's on the river to celebrate her 54th birthday. She was diagnosed with M.S. when she was in her early 30's and she has not let it stop her or slow her down! The picture below is the picture of us at Christmas, 24 lbs ago! I obviously did a crop job before I saved the second picture.
Anyway....the reason I am tired is because I have not had my thyroid pills since Thursday:( I have to get them mail order and I didn't send for them in time. It really hit me today and I slept a lot. It's totally my fault and that makes me mad at myself:( If they don't come tomorrow, I will call my Dr. office and try and get some samples. Dumb, dumb, dumb. Hopefully lesson learned!
I had a fun morning getting my boobies squashed for my yearly mammogram. Since I was out I got a sausage mcmuffin minus the eggs and cheese. It sure tasted good. I need to get some sausage patties to have around for breakfast. Bacon and I reconciled during my trip, but I don't think I am going to buy any again for a long time.
Lunch was a ham sandwich on a whole wheat sandwich thin. I had to use one of my daughter's because I was out of my whole wheat white. My taste buds must be changing because it really wasn't that bad!
Dinner was fish and chips, light on the chips. It was wonderful. I did not get the 4 course meal that everyone else had because it came with dessert. I am so proud of me:)
I made the peanut butter cookies that Dawn posted. They are quite tasty:) I had 2 for a snack when I woke up from my long slumber. I hope tomorrow is more energetic day.
My hubby was told not to work again until they decide what to do with him??? So I guess he is home again tomorrow. Crazy waiting:( The independent Dr. that the state brought in to evaluate his injury came all the way from Virginia. They contract from out of state so it is a "fair and balanced" assessment. Kind of cool actually.
Blessings and Happy Scales!

Hallelujah:) 141.1
Praise God, Hallelujah, Thank you scales!!! I was at 141.1 today. I have to say I was a little worried after our trip that it would not come back off right away. I am up a little, but still hovering in the same weight area. It will be time to get SERIOUS on September 1st!
Goals:
1. Journal my food every day. Pay attention and be totally honest with myself.
2. Add resistance training to my workouts. I love Zumba and will continue to do that 3 days a week, but I can certainly add some resistance work in too. I would love to have a defined bicep:)
3. Walk or ride my bike at least 3 times a week. My poor bike is desperate for some attention. I have never explored my neighborhood by foot or bike. It is time, I have lived her 11 years!
4. Be thankful every day for all that I have and all that the future holds.
It appears that my husband just may be put back out on medical disability through Wrigley. Finally after consulting his personal physician and his original spine Dr. they are listening. He has a final meeting today (a Saturday??? Weird) with an independent physician so they can try and close the workmen's comp case with the state. If they had just taken the states advice in the first place and given him more time to heal and build core strength, he would be so much better. Instead it is getting progressively worse. I think that is another reason I want to start resistance training again, I know how quickly our physical strength can disappear. My husband is very lean, eats healthy, has always worked out every morning for at least 45 minutes, and he is not the same guy that he was just 1 1/2 years ago. He is still lean and healthy, but the persistent back issues would make a sane person crazy! Then you add having a wife like me and oh my gosh!!! I am a little high maintenance, I'm not going to lie:)
Have a great Saturday everyone! Blessings to my friends on the East Coast!!

Amazing mini vacation!
| Beautiful sunset! |
The picture is the sunset on the way through 4th of July pass in Idaho. It was just beautiful. We had an absolutely wonderful time on our shopping trip to Missoula Montana. Seriously when you pay the price that is actually on the sticker for things, it is exciting. I was able to find a wheeled carry on that fits under the airplane seat for our trip to Hawaii. It will even hold my laptop safely so I will try and blog when I am in paradise. We bought the huge matching suitcase too. It was really light weight so hopefully we can just pay for 1 extra bag. 25.00 a bag adds up! I found lots of cute clothes to take along. I need to clarify my post about my size 4 jeans. Yes they fit my butt and thighs, but they do not fit my waist:( I would have to use duct tape to make my waist a couple of inches smaller! I did buy size 6 shorts and they do fit, but I can loose a little belly fat and they will fit much better! So I am not a size 4 and I am barely a size 6! Reality in the dressing room!!!
So how did I do on my food??? Well, I have no issue with sugar. We stayed at a Hampton Inn and they have fresh baked cookies every night. I did not have one, nor was I tempted. I think my husband had 8 cookies total!!! I did reunite with bacon because it was part of the breakfast buffet. I also ate an english muffin that tasted like pure heaven, but I did not eat any of the sweet rolls or muffins. I look at the little successes vs the downfalls. I do love potatoes and white flour:( I ate way too many carbs. On the way home we always stop at this HUGE gift store and they make tons of homemade huckleberry items. I bought some banana/huckleberry bread because I knew if I loved it, I couldn't get it again until we went back to MT. I had 3 bites and that was it. It was good, but not good enough. If I would have gotten a candy bar or any other baked good I am sure I would have eaten the whole thing. Again, another success. I jumped right back in to being good today!
I babysat my grandson all day today so I am pooped! He is amazing and easy, but busy!
Wish me luck with the scale tomorrow. I didn't count today because I didn't have much water yesterday and I was bloated. I have had plenty of water today! I ran out of my thyroid pills though and that might stink:( Hopefully they will get here tomorrow before it effects my weight too much.
I have the BEST husband in the whole world and I feel happy. I wish that feeling for everyone, but I know how unusual it is:) (from experience)
God Bless all of the people on the East Coast. Wow, what a run of bad luck:(
I'm sure thinking of you girls on the East Coast!!!
Blessings and happy scales:)

I cried today:)
Happy tears, shocked tears!!! My capri's that I had on today kept falling down off my butt, I have no butt:( Just a thick middle....anyway, I thought "these are too big, I wonder how far away from fitting into my size 4 Abercrombie jeans I am?". I put them on and they fit! Not perfect, I would have to wear a shaper to help with a bit of muffin top, but they fit, and not even skin tight. I haven't been able to wear those jeans in about 5 years!!! It truly was one of those really weird feelings, twilight zone. I know I have lost, but the scale is still hovering at around 140-141. I called my hubby, who is on vacation, upstairs and just started crying. He just held me and asked if it was time to get my new jeans yet:) We leave for our shopping trip to Missoula Montana tomorrow. I am excited to get some things that fit. I'm not excited about the potential bad choices I may make in food! It's time to get really serious and to really monitor myself when this month is over. September hear me ROAR!!!
I just want to say thank you to all of my BFC friends who listen and encourage me.
I had my mashed potatoes and spinach for dinner again tonight. Yummy...It sure makes a small portion of potatoes go further. I used at least a cup of spinach cut up small. I also microwaved it for 40 seconds to soften the spinach. That helps take away any crunchy texture.
Yesterday we had a wonderful day at the lake with my good friend. My Kayce used to help her girls (identical twins) with soccer when they were in junior high. Now they are freshman at Washington State University. Time has flown. That's why she invited Kayce, Karson and me:) Another day of too many chips, but I did not have any sweets and that was tough since they all bought my favorite frosted shortbread cookies!
Sherrie, I just want you to know how impressed I am by your success with Mary Kay. The little gal that was with us yesterday sells it too. It is not easy putting yourself out there and continually building your business. Kudo's girl! If you can do that, you can certainly do this:) I wish I was retired because I wanted to be, and not because the economy has forced me to be:( But that is a story for another day! Today is a glorious day:)
As long as we continue to blog and hold ourselves accountable, we are all winners!!!

Just sharing my vitamins:)
| My morning vitamins:) |
This is what I take every morning after breakfast. The green tea I have been taking for a very long time, when I remember! Do they help? Who knows, but I continue on! I'm sure it would help more if I would take more than 1 a day. The magnesium has taken the place of the Metamucil. I rarely take it anymore. My regularity started when I started the magnesium, so I have to give that and the fiber tortilla's credit. I started by taking 1 a day and if I feel a little plugged up, I take 2. I learned about the magnesium from a comment on the BFC fan page. The flaxseed oil, I just started adding in a few days ago, I forgot I even had it, for all I know it is expired! I think it was Amber that mentioned it in her blog. The vitamin D was prescribed by my Dr. a few years ago. It has helped me tremendously in the "Debbie Downer" department! Even taking 2000 to 3000 IU's a day and a nice tan, I still had moderately low Vitamin D when I had my blood work done for my physical.
So here in all it's glory is my last 2 days in food consumption:(
Saturday
Breakfast: sandwich thin with 1/2 PB and Natures Hollow and 1/2 butter and NH
Lunch: Bowl of pasta salad:( Tri color pasta, turkey pepperoni, parmesan cheese, black olives and italian dressing.
Dinner: Mexican chimichanga and burrito, chips and salsa.
Party and I did not have dessert!
Sunday
Breakfast/lunch
Real hamburger, as in making my own patty, with mayo, teeny bit of catsup (seriously maybe an 1/8 of tsp) spinach on a grilled sandwich thin. Salt and pepper potato chips with ranch:(
Dinner: KFC wing and breast Xtra crispy...their mistake so I just ate it anyway, 3 bites of mash potatoes and gravy. No coleslaw, no biscuit.
Dessert: Fro yo and they only had strawberry banana sugar free. It was gross so I had about 2 TBSP total of vanilla with sliced almonds. I know it had too much sugar, but my hubby had already gotten his vanilla and hot fudge sauce! The website shows that 1/2 cup would be 16 sugars so even the small amount I had, had too much sugar. I am waiting to see how my tummy does.
So that is the truth, I have too many carbs, but my sugar is pretty much under control. Now I will have to find a good balance.
My mid year resolution is to lose more weight as painlessly as possible, and to quit stressing. I think the losing weight is easier than the quit stressing!
The first of September I am going to go back to the legalistic BFC and try and take some weight off before Hawaii. We are having such beautiful weather, I may still have a tan when we leave the 5th of October!
Blessings and happy scales:)

140.7:) Woot!!!
OK, my last post was a feel sorry for Kay post, but I feel better because of all of the kind things that my BFC friends have said. I was not fishing for compliments, I was really struggling. I really liked what Beth said about catching yourself in the mirror and thinking who is that person? That's what I feel like a lot. I think if I had more going on, like a job that made me use my brain once in awhile, I wouldn't have as much time to focus on "poor Kay"! I have come a long way, the pity party is officially over!
My weight this morning was a nice surprise. Gosh I am so close to 139 now. It just seems so easy now to stay away from sugar. We went to a friends party this evening and she had made some brownies that I was not tempted by, but she had made a peach cobbler that looked AMAZING!!! Especially since I keep wanting some cobbler. I did not eat any:) Success!
I almost hate to write down what I have been eating lately because I know I eat too many carbs and I don't eat enough healthy things. Since I have found a balance and I am still losing a little, I guess I will just keep it up. When I get stuck again on the weight, I will cut back. I don't want to be a bad example, but I am a real example! I didn't even think about having a treat when we got home from the party??? Weird! It's too late at night now.
Sweet dreams:)
