New blog format? Good or bad? Click on the header title to view:)

What do you think about the new blog format? Good or bad? Did everyone else see all of the options too? Kind of cool actually. I can't seem to get to my blog to write a new post without going to someone else's and then going through the dashboard. I am obviously not blogger savvy!
Well I was not surprised by the scale the last 2 days. I was at an all time low on Tuesday morning of 136.2. This morning I was at 137.4. I have definitely been a bad girl. Tonight was the first time we have eaten dinner at home since last Friday? Wow...crazy....waste of money??? I didn't realize it had been so many days. I swear when I am writing this I have these "aha" moments!!! We don't eat at fancy places, but it sure adds up. Last night was Ivar's fish and chips...yummy! I really don't eat that many fries and the fish is good for me right?
Grilled steak/spinach salad with chili cheese frito's
After my pie on Tuesday night I did find that I was ravenous on Wednesday. Seriously...I could have eaten a house. I could have really gone nuts, but I did my Zumba like a good girl and was moderate on the food. Today I have been back on track. I babysat all morning and then we went out to the commissary this afternoon. I really get some good food bargains out there! For dinner I made pork cutlets/mashed potatoes with spinach and gravy. It was so much better than the junk I have been eating!
We have been on a search for new jeans for me. That's why we were out shopping again last night. I went to a bigger Macy's to try and find some that fit right. I tried on at least 20 more pair. Ugh!!! My waist is still 30 inches, but I have a flat butt and it looks awful in most of the jeans I try on. If they fit my butt, they were tight in the waist. The relaxed boyfriend type my hubby doesn't like:( He says that I didn't lose all this weight to wear baggy pants. Ugh!!! My daughter suggested I try the Gap and they actually have 30 % off through Sunday, so I guess I am on for more torture. I'm afraid if I don't get some jeans before I go to Hawaii, I will grow and then just accept it and buy bigger pants. I want to have something to stay in, not grow in to!
I have some AWFUL news for me. I have been able to stick to the BFC in large part because I changed my bread to the whole wheat white sandwich thins. My hubby looked everywhere for them on Tuesday night and we just thought, oh...we will just get some at the base way cheaper. We went to the base today and they didn't have them either. If they are out at every store, I think they may have quit making them? Did somebody go all over town buying them all? This will seriously be bad. I can tolerate the wheat ones, but I am bummed. I know this sounds weird, but we bought some lunch meat to take to Hawaii. I planned to take my sandwich thins, and some chili cheese fritos'. Well...my sandwich thins are AWOL:( I bought Canadian Bacon, salami and some pepperoni slices. I plan to have them all frozen and put them in our little cooler that we take to the beach and just put in my suitcase. There is a little store on site and a Walmart a ways away, but everything is twice as much there and fewer choices. My husband thinks that I won't really pack sandwiches to the beach...I am going to prove him wrong!!!
Blessings and happy scales:)

Wow...what a day:)

Karson and Gma K
I love this picture because it shows the realization of how much weight I have lost! A whole Karson. He weighs 33 lbs. My weight at Christmas was 170, today it was 136.2. Tomorrow...not so good....but I will get there! But just think, I was carrying around a full size 2 year old in my tummy area. I have lost all over, but mostly tummy. The BFC rocks!!!
Leave some for later!!!
So I had a busy day today. I went to lunch with my wonderful, incredible, I hope I am just like her...friend JoAnn. She is 86 years old!!! She is amazing! We were at the Olive Garden for 3.5 hours visiting. Our waiter was a sweetheart and hopefully we tipped accordingly. I took a picture of my plate when we were done eating so you could see what I save for later. I had 1 breadstick and a bowl of zuppa soup too. Moderation is the key for me now and forever!
Isn't she beautiful?
This afternoon my hubby and I left to get me some new shoes.....I don't know if you have heard about Toms? My daughter has about 8 pair. I finally broke down and got some Black Glitter ones because they are supposed to be so COMFORTABLE and when you buy a pair, they give a pair to a child? Gimmick? Who knows? We then went to find me some new jeans. I think I tried on 20 pair. I am short, and I have a short waist, so they all fit weird. I did not get any because my butt was too flat, the rise was off, the color was dorky, etc. etc. I was a size 6 in every pair and a 7 in the junior sizes. It would have been more frustrating if I wasn't so excited about the size! That took forever so we stopped for dinner on the way home. 2 meals out in 1 day...that's one of the reasons that I know the scale may slap me up side the head tomorrow! My husband LOVES pancakes so we went to Perkins. I had an omelette...not bad....breakfast potato's, just a few, 1/2 english muffin.....and 2 bites of the most heavenly pie in the history of my life. It was a coconut candy bar pie. I could stop at 2 bites because it was so sweet it made my mouth pucker. I wanted to eat it to see if my tummy got upset when I ate something sweet. I want to make sure when I go on vacation I am not going to be running to the bathroom all the time. I also spilled my full drink all over the table. I don't ever get embarrassed, kind of a good/bad thing....but my husband does! We are such a team:) I do the dumb move and he gets embarrassed! So I have had a very FULL food day, I do NOT recommend trying it...I hope that I don't have a weight gain that takes forever to come back off....but what a great day it was:) I will close with a picture of JoAnn.
Blessings and happy scales! Woot, woot!!!

136.5- Down 28.9 pounds of fat:)

Happy:)
Unconditional Love.....
That is what I have to have for my kids, that is what a Mother does, that is what I will do!
My granddaughter's 12th birthday party was last night. We just went over after dinner and had cupcakes, and ice cream. I did not have either. My DIL, bless her heart, isn't the greatest cook so I didn't feel like I was missing out. I did buy a Midnight Reverie candy bar at Target and had it in my purse in case I needed it. I didn't! Anyway... an argument ensued about me being on unemployment and realistically if I walked into Famous Footwear and asked for a job, because of how I looked, (compliment in there somewhere) I could get one. The fact that I am going to Hawaii in 10 days is a moot point. If I can work, I should work. Being judged by my kids, hurts:( I would take it more personal if they were shining examples of US citizens. I would also take it more personal if they had EVER been happy for me to go to Hawaii. I always get the "I wish "I" could go to Hawaii". Well, I am 54 years old, lived through years of Hell and I deserve this. I asked them why they couldn't be happy for me having a husband that can take care of me? I guess I am held to a different standard.   That's the short story, many more words were said, I really did remain calm, and I am sorry that my poor granddaughter sat through all of it. Needless to say their attitude is something that has bothered my husband for years. He is never surprised and he is always there to pick up the pieces. Honestly without having a "feel sorry for Kay", I did not get divorced because of a whim. Both of my sons dads were very abusive. I decided I would rather be single than be abused. both of their dads were generational abusers. I feel like God put me in their lives so that I could, and did, stop the cycle. Both of my son's, though sometimes mean with words, would NEVER hit a girl. And believe me, with 2 sisters, there has been ample opportunity! I was poor, real poor, and my kids never knew it. Sometimes I wish I would have shared the financial struggles more so they would have learned some gratitude. Oh well....husband 3 was an alcoholic that was still in love with his ex wife. We were high school sweethearts that just thought we were meant to be together...nope....I still don't drink!
Cadence and Cy
So...in the end...I did not feel like eating a thing when we got home so I did not eat since linner at Red Robin. I had the fish and chips and took a lot of the breading off and limited my fries. The scale could be up tomorrow, but for today....it was good!!!
So, my thoughts for the day are kind of sad. Disappointed in my boys, but not surprised.
Happy Birthday to Sherrie!!!
Happy Scales to everyone...
Oh...I almost forgot something else that is actually important!!! If you have been reading my blog, after weeks of being in the 140 range I decided that if that was a good weight for me, I would just let it go and start maintenance. Letting it go allowed me to lose another 3.5 lbs. Seriously....I think I was obsessed with seeing the scale move and when it didn't I would get so frustrated. When I gave that up, I not only lost, but freaked myself out because I was losing!
Just a thought!

137.7 Woot, woot, woot!!!

OK, so I was a little worried that I may have over done the food for a couple of days. It was so good to see the scale in the right place this morning! It isn't my all time low, but I will take it!!!
Zumba this morning and it was great:) Do you know the song "tootsie roll"? Well picture me, 54 years old jumping around doing the tootsie roll. I have to say it "tickles" me to know what I must look like!
I got my hair done last Tuesday and have not been able to style it since. I went back today and had her cut it shorter. I did not want shorter, but I did want easier. I hope it does what it is supposed to tomorrow.
I bought the Fast Track book at Costco in Missoula. I have not really had a chance to read it thoroughly, but I have a theory. 14 days and a "cure" are 2 TOTALLY different things. I would hate to see it being a short term fix for a long term problem. I am sticking to the 15/6. I know I can eat out, eat in, live around food, and be successful. That's a lifetime cure. I know I eat too many carbs, white carbs included, but I don't ever feel deprived.
I want to clarify on the chili cheese fritos. I get the bag out of the cupboard, I take about 8 fritos out... I put the bag back in the cupboard and I do NOT take it out again. Chili cheese have such a strong flavor that you can even kind of suck on them and get the salty spicy taste. Love it!
Hubby and I babysat Karson tonight and we actually took him with us to visit my little sister that lives in a nursing home. (assisted living, whatever) He was just a doll and was so easy. He weighs about 33 lbs though so he is a heavy little guy. I just realized something when I typed that out. I have lost almost a Karson. I have lost 28 lbs and he is 33 and feels like a giant lump! Wow!!!! Eye opener. Wow!!! I can't wait to share that bit of information with my hubby. He can't pick him up because he is not supposed to lift over 30 lbs! Woot!!!
About the bra fitting. I was at a Dillard's department store. The gal was a certified fit specialist? She actually only took one measurement that went under my arms and around the top of my boobs??? Kind of weird, but she was right. My husband would love me to wear a VS bra, but I refuse to have some young gal handling my old saggy boobies. Each brand of bra is so different in their sizing.
Someone commented on my hubby and me. Truly God sent him to me. If you are new to my friends, I have been married 4 times. Oh my gosh, you are saying!!! Well trust me, I  feel forgiven because of my husband. He had never been married or had children and he married me with 4 kids, 3 of which were teenagers! We have been married 11 years and together almost 13. He is my best friend in the world and I hope and pray that I never take him for granted. God must love me or He wouldn't have sent my best friend to spend my life with, right? My life has changed dramatically from the single mom with 4 kids. That is why I get so bummed with myself. What more could I have been blessed with and I still can't be happy all the time? Ugh!
Kay's confession week. I am human!
Breakfast:
Sausage and egg burrito with salsa.
Lunch:
Hot dog on 1/2 sandwich thin with 5 chips
Dinner:
KFC popcorn chicken....bad:( a couple of fries dipped in gravy. It was late and I wasn't even into eating.
No dessert, no snacks!

Fabulous trip!!!

We went to Missoula MT again for a quick shopping trip. My hubby wanted to get some things for himself this time so he actually found some great deals. I am happy when he spends money on himself and not just on me. He doesn't do that very often, unless it is the millions of little cars in his office. I still have to sneak a picture of them someday so I can share his obsession! I got a little bummed after trying to find some shoes that I wanted and they were sold out everywhere there. I guess they come in and go out in the same day. Since I didn't get my shoes, I guess you could say I was pouting:( Then when I bought my Clinique the gal told me if I get the bigger size of my serum that I would get 10.00 back on my credit card. She did not say that if I spent 33.00 more that I would get another 10.00 back. I am not the kind to return something and put the salesperson through the whole return/ exchange thing (working in retail makes you have sympathy) so I just fumed. I was also going to get fitted for a new bra and I walked by the department still steaming at myself for being a wimp and decided I didn't feel like dealing with it. While we were driving away from the mall, I was complaining to my husband and he drove all the way back and sent me back into the store to get fitted for my bra and get more Clinique. I am so THANKFUL that he did. My official bra size....34 DD! Ugh!!! But she fit me with the most amazing bra that does not show back fat and was so comfortable. I did not have to pull my bra band away from myself once all day today. I actually got 2 new bra's. I don't think I have had 2 new bra's, that were nice bra's, in all of my adult life. Seriously, I bought a LeMystere one time after Oprah raved about them, but only 1. I just wore it to death. It's funny the things we will spend money on. By getting some new foundation and a couple of lip glosses I got the additional 10.00 off from Clinique. I actually ended up with 2 gift with purchases since the gal was so nice. I'm set! Probably one of my favorite things I got is a Nalgene bottle that says "Life is good". I don't know if you are familiar with that brand, but it is cheerful and "life is good!"
OK, so here's the food! Are you ready???
Sunday morning: Sausage mcmuffin minus cheese and eggs. I threw the top 1/2 away and ate the sausage, as I got closer to the end, I took the sausage and ate it and threw the muffin away. Again this is a huge change for me. I always got the sausage biscuit meal with orange juice...can you say....sugar and carbs?
Snack: pepperoni stick and salted peanuts
Linner: HUGE salad with thousand island and ranch dressing. Yes I know there is sugar in the TI, but it is homemade at the restaurant and to die for. Baked potato soup with extra bacon and 1/2 french dip. I took 1/2 the  bun off and then ate 1/2 of the 1/2. I just ate the prime rib for the most part. I also ate a scone with honey butter:( Again, what I used to eat, and what I eat now....HUGE difference. The hotel also had giant oatmeal raisin cookies and I did not have one single bite!
Monday breakfast: a few potatoes, tons of bacon, ham omelet, and 4 delicious, glorious, bites of coffee cake. Honestly...I tried to make my coconut bread taste like coffee cake so I had been dying for some. Eating 4 bites and handing it to my hubby was huge for me. HUGE! I did not have the endless glasses of orange juice that I would have had in the past. Progress.
Lunch: Garlic cheese breadsticks with ranch dressing...bad girl, but we get them every time we are there. One carb I am not willing to give up.
Dinner: Cracker Barrel friend pork chops. A bit of Heaven on earth. They only offer them on Monday's so I vow to only go to Missoula on a Monday overnight from now on. I ate a few french fries with them, and gave the cinnamon apples to my hubby. He ate pancakes with 3 bottles of syrup. He may have to start watching his sugar now that he is not working. Those oatmeal raisin cookies I didn't eat? He ate 3!!!
Again by sharing what I ate, I hope I am offering encouragement. Do I think I could eat this way for days on end and not gain weight? No, but for a couple of days...yes:) I was up less than 1 lb and I am hoping it will be gone in the morning. I jumped right back into being good today! Woot!!!
Breakfast: 2 sausage patties on sandwich thin
Lunch: PB and Nature's Hollow on sandwich thin and 4 chips
Dinner: Steak and spinach salad with ranch and a few crushed chili cheese frito's.
No dessert or snacks today.
I feel happy again, I don't know why I go through my bummer times....if I knew I would be a millionaire.
Blessings and Happy Scales!!!
And I LOVE all of your blogs, I get so excited to read them and see what is going on. I feel like we are buddies who just live in different towns!

137.2 And it made me sick???

OK, this was so weird, and explains how "weird" I am. I weighed this yesterday morning. Since I hadn't really been all that good, it totally freaked me out! I ended up sleeping most of the day and convincing myself I must be dying of some unknown disease because the scale finally budged. Truthfully I was more weirded out, than happy! This morning I got up and was 137.3 so that means it wasn't a huge mistake. Now I can be happy!
We are headed to Missoula for tax free shopping and food....so I am sure I may be up a little when I get back. I swear this weight loss journey can make a sane person crazy:( I don't know if I was really that sane anyway!
FYI when you see the lower weight, keep in mind I am barely over 5'3. I used to be 5'4. Dang the old age!!!
Have a great Sunday! I think I can today since I am not going to die!!! Am I nuts or what???

138.2 and confession time!!!

So, so happy:)
Ok, I have confessions to make and a small piece of advice you can either take or throw away!!!
I have had diet soda every day  this week. I have had Arby's, Fat Daddy's pizza, Pizza Hut pizza and wings, French Dip at a Deli yesterday and KFC for dinner last night. How could I possibly have lost weight with all of those bad places??? Isn't diet soda bad for you??? On that I will say that I never buy it or drink it at home. When I am out to dinner or lunch and they don't have fresh brewed ice tea, I drink diet soda. It would save money not to have soda and to have water, but it's a treat. I do think that it is part of the reason that I have been physically hungry every night when I go to bed. I think it has the effect on me.
On the food. I know that all of the places are not the best decisions, but here is what I do.
Arby's....I had a medium Roast beef. I took off the top bun and I only used 1 packet of Arby's sauce. According to my tap and track it had 2 sugars. I ate about 5 curly fries. I don't eat all of the bottom bun either.
Lunch with friends for pizza. I get a individual pizza and pile all of the toppings (pepperoni and canadian bacon) on 2 crusts. It is very filling.
Pizza Hut...my daughter and I got a large thin crust, I had 1 crust and 2 crusts worth of toppings (bacon, canadian bacon, pepperoni).  We had the boneless buffalo wings. I ate 2.
French dip at the Deli. I ate 1/2, took the top crust off, which would mean a 1/4 of the roll and ate the meat. I did eat a few potato chips too.
Dinner at KFC. I got mashed potatoes and gravy which Jorge says we can have. I eat mostly the gravy when I dip my chicken in it. I had a wing and a breast of original chicken. Again, Jorge says we can. I really believe with all of me, that the reason I can eat out at these places and still do OK with the scale is because I am eating what I like!!! I am satisfied with less food/calories because it is the food I wanted in the first place. I didn't order something just to feel like I was being good on the BFC and then not enjoy it, but eat all of it because I could. I feel that eating my favorite things in small portions is why this has been relatively painless for me. I am not saying this would work for everyone, and I am not saying that it does not waste money, and I am not saying that it is easy to see your favorite food still sitting there and not in your tummy....but I got to eat what I love.
I really believe that I can do this forever because I have really, really limited my sugar, I make way better choices in my carbs, and I love the food that is going into my mouth. It is not a "waste of calories" as my husband and I used to joke.
Now when I get back from vacation, I can't promise that I will have only eaten a little bit of my favorites. It will probably be the last time that we go there, so I plan to absorb every little thing I can.
I feel better mentally since I have been back on the fish oil and flax oil, I don't know if it was that or hormones!
Let me know what you think of what I said. I want to know if it is encouraging information or discouraging information? It seems that the blog posts are getting fewer and farther apart. I really enjoy reading what people are thinking and their food ideas. I don't want us to fall off the wagon. I want to offer hope not discouragement.
On the other good news front, I went to the new Zumba instructor this morning and I loved her class. She was really fast and I was challenged aerobically. It was great!!! Yay!!! I thought things would never be the same after I lost my favorite gal. Life moves on as usual, going with the flow:)

139.4 Woot!

So I am staying in the 139 area for the last few days. That's progress!!! I went to Zumba this morning and I still don't like the teacher as much as the other gal:( I do not like rock and roll music!!! I am still cranky:( I should be happy and on top of the world. Ugh!!!
Reasons to be happy...I have LOST 26 lbs!!!
I love my husband:)
I have a wonderful family:)
I don't work right now:)
I am blessed with great friends:)
I love my BFC buddies:)
I LOVE having my grandson here!
So I will go to bed again trying to kick my own butt!
3 weeks from today I will be in Hawaii....woot! Should we do a contest to see how much weight I gain? I am NOT going to miss my favorite things there. The one thing that I ate almost every day was a scoop of pecan praline ice cream in a chocolate dipped macadamia nut cone. Hmmmm....how many sugars in that? Not to mention it costs about 6.00! Pineapple??? There is a salad bar at Duke's that has macaroni salad that I could eat for the whole meal. Just thinking of all the bad things:( Hmmmm....
The good news is that I know when I get back, I can jump right back in:)

Enter as strangers, leave as friends:)

Today was the monthly lunch date with my friends that used to be members of my gym. It is so fun to catch up with each other's lives. I can't believe it has been about 6 years since I owned it and 2 years since I worked there. Time has really flown by! Back story...I owned my own Women's only fitness center for 3 1/2 years, I then sold it to a larger gym and worked for them for another close to 3 years. I made a lot of wonderful friendships during those years! I have been off work for almost 2 years:( The large gym had major financial troubles:(
The sign on the top left of the picture was a gift from my daughter. It said "enter as strangers, leave as friends". That is how I ran the business. I was just feeling nostalgic because I was with the girls today.
I am still feeling kind of bummed for some reason:( I also feel really chubby:( I know that I am not chubby and I have come so far, but I feel that way:( UGH!!!! ARE WE EVER SATISFIED???

My old gym.
Neighborhood Fitness For Women

Hubby and I were out and about yesterday so I had an Arby's sandwich. I only ever eat the bottom bun. That is a change I can handle for a lifetime. For dinner I made hamburger gravy and mashed potatoes/spinach. Am I the only one here who eats potatoes and gravy??? I know there are carbs, but portion control is doable.
My poor husband has had to put up with my bad attitude for 2 days. I think he is truly a Saint when I get this way. Poor guy, nothing he does or says is right!
I need to get a swift kick in the butt to get over myself!!!
Blessings and happy scales!

139.2??? I have a theory!

Less stress:)
This is how I sit on the computer all day!
Karson loves sitting next to me and watching videos!
I think the scale has finally moved because I am not freaked out about what was going to happen with my husband and his job. We have all heard before that belly fat is caused by stress and I certainly believe that! I am really pleased by my progress, so what did I do yesterday? We went to dinner at a Pizza place and I literally almost ate 1 large pizza crust. Well not completely, but if I had eaten my whole meal I would have. First we had garlic cheese sticks, then my sandwich came on pizza crust cut in 1/2 and used for bread. I ate the middle out because by then I was questioning my sanity! It wasn't even good enough to wreck how far I have come. Ugh!!! No dessert afterwards, I couldn't add 1 more thing. This morning I was up a lb. but I am hoping from being good today it will be gone.
What was interesting about Rosie's post yesterday is that I felt the same way all day. I wore a shirt that had ruffles on the front so I just felt chubby. I swear the mental part of this whole journey would make a sane person crazy! I know I am no longer chubby, I know in my head that I have come so far, but I guess it is just on bad days that I feel so bummed. Maybe it is hormones!
I have really struggled emotionally the last few days??? I must love stress and function better when I am under it. Crazy:(
I have been out of my fish oil for about a week (no excuse in the world for that) so maybe it helps me mentally too. I feel so ungrateful when I can't be happy and my life is pretty darned blessed! I guess it could be the endless coverage that I have been watching of 9/11. My heart truly goes out to everyone that day. So, so, sad!
Blessings and happy scales...hopefully tomorrow I will find some joy in my day!
Yesterday food
Breakfast: 2 sausage patties on toasted sandwich thin
Linner: Massive quantities of pizza crust!
No dessert
Today
Breakfast: 2 sausage patties on toasted sandwich thin

139.9:) I broke the barrier!!!

Today:) I do have other shirts!
Oregon Coast September 2010
I found some pictures from our Oregon Coast trip last year:( I honestly think my whole body has changed. I don't know if I can attribute it totally to the BFC, but I am happily surprised. My husband thinks it is the Zumba! Whatever it is, I will take it!
I was happily shocked this morning with the scale. I have been pretty darn good lately (for me) so I was excited. We went shopping today and I had fish and chips for lunch! They were wonderful, so I just had a turkey sandwich for dinner. I am constantly amazed that I eat spinach now. I eat 1 single veggie, over and over and over!!!
So here is my senior moment, although I have many "moments". So I was asking Dawn to post the S/C value of the PB cookies with coconut flour using Jif. She was confused? Well they don't have flour in them! I was totally convinced, and have posted on other's blogs, that my PB coconut cookies were sure helping me be "regular". I just tickle myself! I had 2 cookies with some yummy Clemmy's and I was joyful. I also had Clemmy's the other night and I mixed some cocoa powder with a packet of stevia and added it to my vanilla Clemmy's. It tasted like Nestle Quik. I used to eat vanilla ice cream with nestle Quik on it all the time. Try it, you'll like it!
My husband got several new Wrigley/Mars products today so we always taste test them. The gum is sugar free so no big deal *wrong kind of sugar* But the Skittles and Starbursts are loaded! The new flavor of Star Bursts is "flavor changes". The cherry turns to lime, the orange turns to strawberry. OMG....I just posted how much I love lime....they were to die for!!! I have, at my disposal, hundreds of packs of Starburst and I will not eat them. I actually told him not to bring me more until we were on the plane to Hawaii. The Skittles were kind of changing flavors too, but not that great. I just know when I crunch the shell of those that it is all sugar! There is 30 sugars in a pack of Starburst! That's 2 days worth for 12 little candies!
I am kind of rambling so I will stop here. I think I will start adding my food again so you can see the random and sometimes bad things that I eat. I think I am pretty darn close to always being good on sugar, not so much carbs!
Yesterday
Breakfast: 2 eggs, 2 sausage in low carb tortilla with salsa
Lunch: Turkey, mayo on sandwich thin. A couple of chips and chili cheese fritos
Dinner: Hamburger on sandwich thin with mayo and spinach. A couple of chips and ccf.
No dessert
Today
Breakfast: 2 sausage patties on a toasted  sandwich thin
Lunch: Ivar's fish and chips with tarter. Diet soda:(
Dinner: Turkey, mayo sandwich thin. A couple of chips, and a couple of ccf.
I was going to have Clemmy's but it is after 8:00 and I really don't need to. I think I am lucky that I don't snack, or really want to snack. It saves me calories and s/c values.
Blessings and Happy Scales:)

6 month anniversary!!! Down 25.1 lbs:)

I got on this scale this morning, then ran downstairs in my nightgown and got my phone to take a picture! I was so excited. This was earned after my challenges last night. I had my first Bunko of the year and we have a LOT of food at Bunko. The only thing that I could eat (that I liked) was a sweet and sour chicken dish and some scoops chips and a red potato salad. I took a lemon bar on my plate at first, but I put it back because I knew there was sugar in the chicken dish. I won second place:)  Well I took 2 lemon bars home because if the scale said what I hoped it would, I would celebrate today. I ate one and gave one to my husband. It tasted like Heaven. It's funny because what has really tasted yummy to me that has sugar has either been lime or lemon based. I love my Bunko friends. We have played together for over 22 years. Our lives have changed over the years, but our friendships continue. I am blessed to have such a great group of women:)
Zumba this morning was with the instructor that I don't like as much. She plays these hard rock songs that I didn't listen to when I was young, and choose not to listen to at this age:( It's kind of a bummer to me. I guess when she is the only game in town on Wednesday mornings, I am stuck!
My hubby and I also got the BEST news ever this morning. Wrigley has put him back out on short term disability. This means full pay and we keep his company car for now. I am praying they give him the time to really heal and strengthen his back. We have only heard from the nurse, no other contact from the HR dept. He has gained 5 years of life back! Joyful is the word I would use for him.
Dinner was my pork cutlet with mashed potato/spinach and gravy. So yummy.
We went to the Base with my daughter yesterday and got a lot of good grocery bargains. @Rosie, I found the sausage crumbles that you talk about. Since I divorced bacon, I needed another breakfast meat! I'm excited to make a breakfast burrito.
Thanks everyone for being on this journey with me. I can't believe I have stuck with something for 6 months. That is something I am proud of too. The lemon bar today, that I ate every single crumb of, was really the first time that I ate something completely. No 3 bites on that one:)
Blessings and happy scales.

141 today:)

I don't think I had a picture of my Matthew (that's what I call him) on my blog. He's the handsome chap on the right. Shawn is his best friend that recently got married. I swear if they were gay, they would have married each other. They provided me with tons of laughs over the years! Matthew is still here working with his older brother. I am glad he is here in town, but I still don't see him very much. Unless I offer dinner, they won't drive the 1/2 hour to get here!
I made a WONDERFUL (to me) dinner tonight. I made a box of stove top (I have said I am not a cook) added about 3 cups of spinach, put it in a baking dish with turkey and gravy over the top and baked it for 1/2 hour. It was just like Thanksgiving and yummy. Our local store has "store roasted" turkey on sale and it is really as close to Thanksgiving turkey as I have ever tasted. I know there were carbs in the stuffing, but when you add spinach it goes a lot further. I am really getting into this spinach thing. I am a grown up now!
I finished the book "The Help" today. I had started reading it a long time ago, but it didn't represent what I remembered about visiting my grandparents in the 60's. They had 2 maids, Sadie and Lois, and we were taught to respect them like any other person we met. They were awesome cooks and actually taught my older sister a lot of good things. Of course I wasn't interested. I just never looked at them any different? We used to always be in Florida when all the little kids would go back to school. The bus stop was in front of my grandparents store. They would be all dressed up in their best clothes. I will never forget the fun times. My grandparents had a store outside of Ocala Florida smack dab in peanut farming country. We drove across Country ever year to visit them. That is why I am still not into long car rides. Can you get any further away than WA state to Florida???
I ate 2 more PB cookies tonight for the fiber they give me and another couple of teaspoons of my Clemmy's vanilla. I have 1 serving left. I would really like to see a good weigh in tomorrow.
I need to clarify better on my start date. I started March 7th, so September 7th will be my 6 month anniversary. 6 months:) What a difference it has made in my life, self confidence and overall health. Woot! Thank you all that blog for being on this journey with me.
Blessings and happy scales:)

I am random:)

My daughter had a friend stay here for about 5 days, when she left she told my daughter that I was random. Yep, thoughts run through my head and out my mouth:) Good, bad, whatever, you never really wonder what I am thinking!
About Zumba. I will definitely say having the DVD set helped me in the beginning. I at least knew what muscles I was supposed to be working. It is a lot of controlled  rotations and I am glad I have my background in how the body works. The instructors don't ever tell you what part of your body you should be working, or really how to do it. It is a catch on when you can kind of thing. The good news is that there are tons of videos on you tube of how to do certain moves. Whenever your body is just flapping around there isn't a lot of benefit. Controlled movement, that's what it's about. For some folk, it is truly just about moving for an hour.

OK, so yesterday morning I weighed 140.8. Not my lowest, but good! Well, we went to Mexican food and my weight today was 141.8. So today we went for hot wings and my ultimate pepperoni pizza from Boston's. I can't wait to see what the scale says tomorrow. It is like I get so close to the 139 and I sabotage myself....over and over again! I think I have weighed about the same for a very long time. On an earlier post I said I was OK with that, this might be a good weight for me, but I know I could try a little harder and make some better choices. After dinner yesterday we went to FroYo again. They had a limeade strawberry sorbet that was just dripping in sugar. I had a about a tablespoon mixed in with my sugar free raspberry. When I say I just get a little I really do. For my husband having yogurt w/hot fudge and mine it was only 3.16. It's weighed, so that tells you my portion is pretty darn small. Our tradition when leaving Boston's was always to go to Krispy Kreme and get a Maple bar. Today was the first time that I have thought about doing that in almost 6 months. Weird:( It was probably that dang sorbet!
We haven't eaten lunch the last 2 days, just breakfast and then Linner. I hope that helps on the scale in the morning.
So I just want to share my thoughts about the BFC, of course repeating myself! I really think that our bodies have to really believe that we are going to eat 5/2 per meal for this to work. We can't just do it for a couple of days and expect our bodies to respond. We have to try and do it many days in a row, and then our body will efficiently get rid of any extra's. It is said that it takes 21 days to form a habit. I think our bodies need to believe we are really changing to change. Does that make sense? I think as we progress months into this, we can cheat here and there, eat a little more of something that we shouldn't, but in the beginning....it has to be an all in. I see frustration on some posts on facebook, but I wonder if they ever really did the first 2 weeks? Just thinking out loud and probably being judgemental. I don't mean to sound that way. I just know for me, it works in a big way. I can eat a lot of bad things and I have been able to rid myself of a whole lot of belly fat. It will actually be my 6 month anniversary on the 7th. I would really like to be at a full 25 lbs by then. Even at 24, it will still be a lb a week. That's OK, I guess! NOT OK, but OK, but I wish it were more, but OK...this is what I do all day....yes/no/yes/no/yes/no!!!

Zumba, Zumba:)

Zumba is for EVERYONE:)
I wanted to post a picture I took at Zumba today. The gal that I love as an instructor, is going back to school full time, so she won't be teaching 2 of the mornings that I go. I will really, really miss her:( She will be teaching Friday afternoons, so I guess I will try and go then. Wednesday and today she had 67 minute play lists and I survived both days. It really helps that it has been cooler in the gym. As you can see there is every shape, size etc. and everyone does the best they can do.
I weighed 142 this AM. I haven't really recovered from my shopping trip and the lack of meds. I do feel way better:) Slow and steady is the way to go. I don't really know if I will ever get the last few lbs off. We just scheduled another shopping trip to Missoula for the 18th. My hubby needs some things and we have the time. The hotels are all a lot less expensive after Labor Day too. Who am I to turn down a fun shopping trip? Maybe I will be ready for my jeans! I did buy some Old Navy trouser jeans on the last shopping trip. One of my dressing room "ah ha" moments!
I had a wonderful day with my friend at her neighborhood pool again today. The weather is just amazing. Perfect temp for laying in the sun and tanning at the pool. My husband is going to a car show with his Mustang all day tomorrow. He called it an International show because cars from the U.S. and Canada will be there. I offered to go with, but thank goodness he wants to go alone! Yay!!! I am good with looking at about the first 20 cars and then I am done.
Good luck to everyone over the 3 day weekend. I am pretty proud of myself for what I have eaten lately:) I am still getting too many carbs, but my sugar is good. I have loved my Clemmy's and PB cookies.
Blessings and happy scales:)
