138.1.....ruh oh! (Scooby doo)

Well my friends, it has taken me about a month to go from my low when I returned from vacation, to now. I am thinking that I either have to get used to this weight, or really try hard and be very limited to stay lower? I am thinking that one through. I know that I do NOT want to go higher because that is when my pants didn't fit and I had a big tummy roll. UGH!!!
Our Thanksgiving will be quiet again this year, just hubby and myself. We bought a 13 lb turkey and I will make my stuffing and gravy. Neither of us needs potatoes too, so it is just gravy, turkey and stuffing for me! The leftovers are even better than the original dinner to me, which is a lot of carbs over several days! Wish me luck! In case anyone wants a hint on good gravy? I cut the wings off the turkey and brown them with flour and then put them in a crock with chicken stock. That gives yummy turkey bits in the final gravy product. If you are displaying your bird, I'm sure that would not look to appetizing, but I just cut him up to eat! I have never been a pie lover so I am safe there, and my husband is happy with chocolate chip cookies or brownies and I have not ever eaten a bite of either for a VERY long time. They are not my trigger food! I did pick up a package of Pillsbury orange rolls when I was buying some crescent rolls, and my mouth began to water....oh the days! But they went back on the shelf where they belong!
My daughter in law asked about the BFC yesterday, but didn't follow through today. I am more than happy to share the info, but she isn't big on her tummy, she is big on her bottom? Does it matter? I don't really know? She called me small and said it has worked for me? Wow!!! There was a compliment in there!
I had my MRI today. The MRI itself was not bad at all, I just pictured myself in a tanning bed. I did have to have 3 different contrast agents, one was in my arm, use your imagination....not fun!!! It was kind of funny because during the test,  I opened my eyes and right above me there was a bunch of scratch marks, I wondered if someone freaked out and started scratching the top! The gals that did the test where the utmost in professionalism and that to me is always calming.
I hope everyone has a very Blessed and peaceful Thanksgiving.

Estrogen, estrogen, estrogen!!!

Well I finally saw the gynecologist about my "sports" injury. I have a tear, up there, that needs to heal or it will have to be surgically done and that is not a good option since I already had vaginal surgery when I had my hysterectomy. My bladder it seems will just have to continue to "lay low". I am not supposed to lift, exercise, do anything at all that would cause that area to pull. He put me on a estrogen pill that goes up there every day for 6 weeks and then twice a week forever after that. The idea is to try and make that area "new" again. Getting old is not for the weak of heart:( I am hoping the estrogen is also a miracle cure for my "male pattern baldness", and all of the other fun things that come with menopause. The thing that I really took out of our visit was that as we get older the skin in the privates atrophies and it is a bad thing. Hormone replacement has once again been proven to be beneficial for many reasons. Ladies, I don't feel any different yet because it has only been 4 days, but I have known so many women that hormone replacement has helped dramatically. If you are close to my age and feel you may be in need of hormones, don't be afraid to look into it. I am getting an MRI done next Monday and that will give more of an indication of what is going on, hopefully I will magically heal! Has anyone had an MRI? I am kind of freaking out. I think I want a Valium first!
My weight has gone up a little bit, but not my waist size. I hope it is temporary as my body gets used to the Estrogen. It is not supposed to cause weight gain.
We had a lot of snow today but my husband shoveled before he left, so the rest didn't really stick. Hopefully it is done for the week. I can't use the snow blower and that worries me:(
Boy is this a Debbie Downer post?
I am soooo excited to see my buddies doing well with their re-commitment to the BFC. As Rosalie will attest, it really does work. I know for me it has been a lifesaver. I wanted to share too that I do eat snack type food and dessert, I just do it during my meals. I only "feed" 3 times a day. Good, bad, or whatever, it works for me. When I have dessert right after dinner, I don't eat as much dinner and I have to account for the dessert. I am still eating my candied pretzels with berries and cool whip. I am a creature of habit and it is a good thing for me!
I miss them....BAD!
Have a great week:)

136.6 :)

Halloween with Cy
Gosh, I have been so lazy on blogging! I am lazy on responses to you guys too...sorry:( I read the blog, have good intentions, then I am too lazy to think of something to type! Crazy right?

The new family on Karson's birthday!
Well here is my vacation update! I got home and I had actually lost weight down to 135.8. I had lost 2.9 lbs! I had said on myfitnesspal that I may need to rent a 3 year old to chase around every once in awhile. I know the reason that I lost was because I was so much more active than I am at home. I have since gained almost a lb back, but I have resumed my laziness and have still not gone back to exercise. I was so excited to go to the Dr. last Monday about my bladder and they called and cancelled until this next Friday. I am just hesitant to exercise and hurt myself again. I have found it so easy and freeing to come home and get right back to BFC basics. I still fail a lot of the time to make good choices, but MOST of the time I do, and that is what counts. My pants feel better, I feel better. I think my sweet spot on weight is 132-135, I have some work to do.

I met a friend of my daughters' while in GA last year that had gastric bypass and had lost 75 lbs. This gal is only at the most 5'1 so that is a LOT of weight. This year she had lost all of her extra weight, I think over 100 lbs and was having her excess skin removed on Halloween. She looked amazing and without the skin I would guess she will be a size 0. Any-who...she put at least 10 packets of splenda in her coffee. I was shocked!!! They were just like spread out all around her cup? Not a giant coffee either??? So weird? My daughter gets "pissy" when I talk about sugar, so I didn't mention it? I am thinking she has an insatiable sweet tooth? Kayce said she is very disciplined in her eating so she is going to keep the weight off, but 10 packets of spenda??? My personal observation was that splenda did not keep her from losing all of her weight. It may be very bad for her, but that is her decision. I am in no way condoning splenda or artificial sweetener use, but as we see with Amber's sister, it sometimes fills the need. What is so weird for me is to take a bite of something that I previously LOVED and it tastes so sweet that it makes me pucker like sour. I bought some giant malt balls, I know-I know, but I love them and I wanted to share with my grandson. I took 1 bite and couldn't eat the other 1/2. It was just too....too... disgusting??? But I ate my whole pecan praline no problem? Weird?

I am going to try and bore everyone by posting more starting next week. I want to be accountable, and I want to encourage that there is life in the BFC even if we aren't perfect! And I don't want to gain over the HOliday's:)
Shock, surprise, happy:)
I love them:)

Tired but content!

GA has been amazing and my new grandson is adorable. I finally have a dark haired grandchild and it is a wonder to me. He has been the sweetest baby and my daughter is quite spoiled. Yesterday was brother Karson's 3rd birthday and we went to Chuckee Cheese. I was so excited for their breadsticks and ranch dressing that I could hardly stand it! They don't have them anymore, they are now cheese sticks and they weren't nearly as good or satisfying.  Believe me, I knew it was for the best, but I was still bummed!!! It was the BFC fairy working in my favor!
I am SERIOUSLY tired! If you have read my blog before I have talked about what a messy girl my daughter is. I swear I just follow her around cleaning all day. I can't wait to get back to my clean, organized life! Well I can, because my grandkids won't be there, but it will be a nice change. Karson and I have had the chance to spend a lot of quality time together and I love that! He wants me to stay so I told him Grandpa would miss me, when we were on the phone with my husband that was the first thing he asked him, "would you miss Gma K? I want her to stay with me."
My daughter's house is quite amazing to me. I NEVER had a house like this when I was her age, in fact I never had a house remotely like this until I was in my 40's. I wonder at times if they really look around and appreciate what a gift it is. It is not only huge, it is just a perfect family home. She is 26 years old and my son in law will be 29 the first of November. They have been truly blessed. My son in law is "in the field" for 4 days and then will start in Paternity leave. His men needed to get this training or they would have to wait until January to try again? We made it through night 1 with no problem, 2 more to go and he will be home.
My food here has not been the greatest, but I haven't caved on the cookies or cake that surround me constantly. I did eat my chick fil a several times and I have had my key lime pie ice cream once. I hope to have them all more before I leave!!! I have eaten a lot of eggs in the morning, that's good right?
Blessings and good wishes to all of you! When I count my blessings it makes me feel really undeserving! Thank you:)

138.1

Well I leave in the morning for GA and my new grandson's birth! I am soooo excited! Kayce went to the hospital this AM with contractions about 4 minutes apart and they sent her home because she didn't progress. I may end up with no ride when I get to the airport!
I was able to drop 4.3 lbs total, I think? It took forever, very slow process, and I want to drop the rest when I get home. I can't only say again that it is so easy when I am alone and eating. I praise you all that have families to feed! Great jobs to you!!!
My next post will be a hello from GA!

138.9 and a visible difference:)

Just a quick note to say that I although my weight isn't leaving as fast as I would like, it is leaving! I feel so much better. With today's weight I am now "only" 6 lbs over my low weight. I have not exercised in just over 3 weeks, so that could have something to do with the slow progress. I have basically stuck to the 15/6 for the last few weeks. It is so much easier when my husband is not home. I love him being here, but I love the simplicity of only worrying about what I am going to eat. I did over indulge yesterday with chips/salsa/mexican food, but progress!
My medical diagnosis was that I have a prolapsed bladder and no hernia. I am so much better pain wise and I knew the bladder part. I am going to try Zumba tomorrow and I am actually looking forward to it!
With only a week before I leave for GA, I realize I am not going to instantly lose the 6 lbs, but I have lost enough that I can see a visible difference in how I look and all of my jeans fit again, with a bit of muffin top:(
Note to self, don't help with yard work! Last night I was helping hubby clean up pine needles and went to move the yard waste bin...I didn't close the lid first and I don't know what happened, but in slow motion I fell  on my face! Well actually on my thumb, which initially felt broken, but got better quickly. I am very happy that I gave my husband a good laugh and I won't be doing yard work again soon. My husband was kind enough to point out that there is a warning on the inside of the bin to close the lid. The funny thing is a gal at my gym years ago fell in her bin and broke her arm, I never figured out how that could happen until last night. I am a danger in the yard!
Have a great week!

My husband is home:)

Thank You Lord, my husband is home! He had to drive to Wyoming last Saturday and just got home late this afternoon. That is 6 nights away from home:( I missed him very much! I will sleep so much better/sounder this evening knowing he is here!
Quick update...I thought of something that I was going to post before and had forgotten. At my bunko I was sharing how I had gained about 10 lbs and that I had decided that I did not want to do the yo yo dieting, so I just kept eating and gaining! How funny was that? I was telling the truth! I knew until I was ready to really get back to basics, I would gain and lose a couple of pounds, therefore I just kept going up! Crazy? Not really in hindsight. I truly think that even though I haven't seen a big drop yet, I will eventually. Pattie, thank you for being right there with me:)
I did talk to my daughter in Georgia/Alabama today and she said it was 90 degrees! Wow!!! That means I won't have to wear tight jeans the whole time, I can take my shorts with me. That kind of makes me less anxious to lose the weight instantly. At her ultrasound on Wednesday the Dr. estimated that her baby was about 8lb 4oz already! Yikes!!! Karson was 9.5, and it seems that Konner may very well be bigger! Of course no matter where you are, even hot California and hot Georgia, people tend to wear Fall clothes. I guess I will just have to be "touristy"!
Have a great weekend! I am sooooo happy my husband is home so I know I will!!!
Karson at the safari park that I hope to visit when I am there! Cool right!!!
Blessings:) K
