Up 3.5 lbs:(

I am not in panic mode yet:( I guess this is a lifestyle change. I really don't feel like I have cheated that bad to justify a 3.5 lbs weight gain. I have eaten too many carbs, but still no processed sugar sweets. We are going to a BBQ today that will be a challenge, but I know I will find somethings I can eat and I will enjoy the day. I really am struggling with getting enough fiber. I started taking the magnesium, I take my metamucil capsules and I really don't know what else I can do:( I just can't eat whole grains, yuck!!! I keep thinking if I eat something that I shouldn't that maybe that will stimulate my system. It doesn't:(
My daughter moved in yesterday. The first day is going good:) We have a parade in our neighborhood every year and he thought the firetrucks were pretty cool. He did not want to get sprayed though.
I found some really yummy Clemmy's ice cream O's yesterday. It was my first taste of ice cream in a very long while. It was really good but the malitol did give me a gassy tummy. They were also 2 carbs. I need to figure out how to safely cut them in 1/2 and rewrap without freezer burn. 1/2 is more than plenty. They have very dark chocolate on the outside which was yummy too!
Happy 4th everyone:)
I'm not in panic mode yet:(

  1. Have you tried the garden of life super seed beyond fiber that Rosalie takes? I've started taking it and for a fiber supplement it's pretty good, much better than choking down psyllium. It's kinda got a funny "healthy taste" but if you drink it fast it's not too bad.

The label says it has "6g of fiber per serving-24% daily value, 16 whole food ingredients-sprouted grains, seeds and legumes, good source of protein and omega-3 fatty acids"

I bet you could be bloated to be up 3.5 lbs...I would be a little pissed too, but I bet it's not true weight. Make sure you are getting lots of water in to help flush everything out. It looks like you are having an awesome 4th of July.

  2. Dont panic, just keep on doing what you are doing! Where did you find the Clemmy's Os? Ive found a few So Delicious ice creams at Whole Foods and have been making popsicles. Ive been having the popsicles at night instead of hot tea, because it is so darn HOT!

I also take magnesium. It helped with leg cramps I got when I was losing. I swear by Uncle Sams for breakfast and a Smart & Delicious tortilla for lunch or dinner for my fiber! But if you arent doing grains, broccoli and all the green veggies should be good for it too.

Enjoy your kids while they are home, that is so nice for the holiday! Your grandson is beautiful!

  3. Hi Kay. Don't panic, forge ahead. I use the benefiber in my coffee and I love the Ezekial break. It might be too whole grainy for you,but I love it in the morning with eggs. The smart and delicious tortillas are good and I know it's not on the program because it's white bread, but the Mission 'carb sense' tortillas have a lot of fiber in them. I forget exactly because I dont have any in the housem but I think it's something like 9 gms. I buy them for my white bread loving son and he makes wraps and fajitas with them. hang in there.

  5. Hi Kay,
Remember the Joseph's sugar free syrup that I use once a week has malytol. It makes my tummy gurgle all day after, but its worth it. I get to have syrup!! But once a week is about all I can handle.
Don't worry about the weight - just jump right back in and you will be fine.
    Have a great day :-)

  6. Looks like the Fourth was nice for you! I, too, am up a little bit right now, but since I haven't been really bad I know the weight will come off. Just gotta keep plugging away and trust the process! :)
