OK, the bar that I LOVED was an Atkins indulgence bar, the other 2 were called "advantage"? They were exactly like I remembered most of the bars tasting and I did not like them at all! Not a teeny bit....nada, yuck! I guess that is a good thing, if I did buy some it would be for special occasions.

Cy's on top for the moment! Mead H.S. Go Panthers! |

Squirt:) |
On Saturday we spent the day at my old H.S. watching my grandson wrestle. Cy is 5 and it was adorable! He wrestled 5 matches and won 1. He lost by points 3 times, was pinned once, and pinned his opponent once. I was so proud of him for NEVER giving up and really hanging in there. I think being on your back in wrestling is one of the longest, hardest, periods of a wrestlers life! My twins came to watch too, so 3 of my 4 kids were there! Matthew got teary eyed watching his nephew wrestle, it sure made my heart happy! It truly brought back so many memories for me. I graduated 37+ years ago, but I was a cheerleader in that same gym for 2 years of my H.S. Wrestling was my favorite sport because I loved the guys so much, they actually appreciated us down on the floor screaming for them. 3 of my 4 kids graduated from that school too. One daughter transferred to a Catholic H.S. (no we aren't Catholic, but it is was an excellent decision) It was just surreal to be there watching my grandson. 3 generations have competed there, I was also a gymnast:) I so wish my Dad could have been there! He used to yell "hey Squirt" across the gym so I would know he was there. Yep, Squirt was my nickname! What I wouldn't give to hear that one more time! He passed away from colon cancer when I was 23 and he was only 49, I have certainly outlived him.
I think I am headed to Georgia to see my other grandsons in April! Woot!!! I can't wait for some Chick Fil A!!!! Seriously makes my mouth water:)
Have a wonderful and successful week!!! Blessings:)
Good morning Kay!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the comment on my blog. I have taken your advice seriously and am giving the BFC a go for a week to test the waters & see if it is a fit for me. I am hoping for good results! I wrote a new post today so if you are interested check it out. Sounds like you had a super fun day with your family & grandson. It would make me meloncholy to be there too.
Keep smiling my beautiful friend!!

What fun to watch that little guy. I used to eat bars sometimes only because they are recommended. But I don't like to waste all the extra calories on them. They are good if you are out or traveling I think.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day :-)
Kay, I love those bars, but I do think they have sucralose in them. My husband buys them, but we are out at the moment. Hard for me to resist. That is such a sweet story about the wrestling and your grandson. What a great family memory. Did you hear they are taking wrestling out of the olympics. They said due to lack of people watching and coming to the events. I heard that the other day on NBC news. Funny about the Chick Fil A. We have them here, but I don't think I have eaten there more than once or twice in my life. Probably not a good thing to start an addiction at this point right?? XO
ReplyDeleteHi Kay!! You're blog brought tears to my eyes. I'm a sentimental person and I loved reading this post - hearing that your grandson wrestled at the school you attended and the story of your dad calling you "squirt". My kids are active right now in all kinds of activities and they sure do love when they know we are there watching. What a special thing between you and your daddy.... ahh... thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI remember trying the Atkins bars years ago and there was one that I did like (caramel, peanut something). It was when I was doing WW.
Hope all is well. I hope to post soon. I have been practicing "Clean Eating" and am currently in a 12 week transformation challenge and feel that I am having such an easy time because of what the BFC taught me. Will update my blog soon.
Happy to hear you may head to Georgia in April. Have fun!!!! Wish you lived closer to me... we have a Chick-Fil-A a few miles away and I'd take you there for lunch!!!! If we are going to eat fast food, we eat there. I love that their chicken is pressure cooked. Anyways - have a GREAT day!! :) Love ya, Kim
Cool that you're going to see Grandsons in April! Funny about the Atkins bars, that they're that much different. I wonder what the nutritional differences are?
