136.4 Yikes!!!

Well I guess I am a gainer:) I was 137.9 Friday!  I hope to be a loser again soon. I have come to some conclusions of why this is.... My husband being off work the last 3 months has made me a much better cook. When he was out of town, I would make whatever sounded good and just eat that, now I make full dinners.
We eat out way too much. I make OK choices for the most part, but it is still "fat food", I mean fast food! Whenever I take long breaks from Zumba, I gain weight when I go back. Frustrating, but true.
Notice how I said "conclusions" and not excuses! My excuse is truly that I eat too much. Too many bad things, and I am dang lucky that I don't weigh more! Now that is the truth!
Have you guys ever had the pretzel dessert that has jello, fruit and cool whip on a pretzel crust? It is one of my favorites! Today I came up with the clever idea of adding pretzels to my fruit and cool whip, it was really quite tasty. Just saying:)
I have the best, most amazing news! My daughter and my grandson Karson are coming for 3 weeks in July. They get here July 4th and stay until the 25th. I am sure that I will be complaining about her during that time, but I will do it with love. I can't wait to see Karson and see my preggers daughter. She will be about 7 months pregnant(with baby Konner) , so she is a gutsy girl to travel across the Country with a 2 1/2 year old! My son in law will be in Ranger school. Ranger school is REALLY hard, so prayers for him to make it through would be greatly appreciated!
This is going to be another busy and fun week. Tomorrow is movie day with my hubby, Tuesday is my son's 33rd birthday, Wednesday is "the girls" laser tag and birthday dinner, Thursday is my grandson's last baseball game and Friday so far is free! Maybe, just maybe, we will have some sunshine!
We are still waiting on our granite getting installed, I am starting to get annoyed. We have paid for all but 1200.00 of it, that may be a bad thing? I trust him, but it's been over 4 weeks since he was going to start. Patience K, patience!
Blessings and happy scales....

  1. Thanks for being honest and for posting even when you have a weight gain. I know it's not fun to do. I agree with all of the reasons you said - makes total sense to me. Whenever I take a break from walking or doing the Wii fit, and then I start them up again, I always see a weight gain for a week or so. It's normal and here's a link to an article explaining why: http://www.dailyspark.com/blog.asp?post=why_the_scale_goes_up_when_you_start_a_new_workout_plan

(let me now if this link doesn't work and I'll resend it). You just keep up the Zumba and I bet you'll see the scale drop soon. I know I had a gain this weekend but I had too much salt and not enough protien so I need to get back to the basics today. I LOVE the strawberry pretzel salad (I make Paula Deen's version) so thank you for the suggesion! :)
Have a great week - I'm excited for you getting to see your daugther and grandson soon - only 3 more weeks!! Have a great week Kay!

  2. I have never heard of that jello dessert (?) thing you are talking about. You're good about self-monitoring your eating and get yourself back on track right away when you see the scale start to go up.

You'll have fun with your daughter and grandson. :)

  3. Pre BFC I ate way too much too. Luckily, I found once I eliminated grains/sugar that I eat only until I'm full (and I'm rarely really hungry). It's actually weird really ... maybe there is something to the wheat/sugar being addictive and making as eat more ... I don't know. I just read a post over at Dr. Davis' blog (Wheat Belly) and he says elimination of wheat will, "eliminate abnormal triggering of appetite". The post is about Bill O’Reilly giving up wheat and talking about his health benefits because of it (and of course how the wheat farmers are not happy). http://www.wheatbellyblog.com/2012/06/panic-in-the-heartland/.

  4. HI Kay, as long as you didn't pay for the whole thing with the contractor - that is normal. I'm sure it will get here son.
I know you will have great visit with you family.
1.5 lbs is not that much. Sometimes I go up 3 lbs, I'm sure you will be back in not time.
I have never heard of that pretzel thingy either.
    Have a great day :-)

  5. Yay that you get to see Karson and Kacey! Sooo fun! You'll get that weight off in no time, I'm sure of it :) I don't envy you on the remodel. We've done too many remodels and it's not fun!!!!!
Crossing my fingers that the sun comes out for you AND thanks for the comment on facebook about my little piggie! That pig was like a child to me and we are very sad. I didn't get my squeaky greeting first thing this morning from her and it broke my heart! :(

  6. I LOVE the pretzel dessert. It's a good mix of sweet/salty. I have a Weight Watchers version that has less sugar in the crust and uses sugar free jello, etc.

Hope the weather where you are at is less gloomy. I'm sure you are looking forward to your visitors in July. We are lucky that our kids and grandkids live in the same state and within a distance that is drivable (to/fro) in one day.

Positive thoughts to your son-in-law in Ranger school.

    Have a great week Kay.

  7. So glad your daughter and grandson are coming for a visit. I know how much you miss them. I can relate to all you've said. I eat too much too,and I eat out too much. It's a hard habit to break, but continually trying. Love and hugs! XO

  8. I love your new background, very festive. How nice that Kasey and Karson will be comming for a visit, I like the name Konnor I don't think I have heard it spelled with a K before. Once you get back on the zumba train you will be a loser again in no time :)
