2 weeks, no progress....

A RARE smile from Taryn:) 25th BD
Unanimous vote to get rid of my sweater!!!
We celebrated my twins 25th BD last Thursday. Taryn NEVER likes to have her picture taken so to get a smile was amazing. Notice the blue cups in front of them? They are both big time Avengers fans, Taryn is in love with Thor, so I bought them cups and plates. The waitress used the cups for their beverages:) I think it's pretty cute at 25 to use an Avenger cup! I was told under no uncertain terms to not mention it was their birthday, so my older son did it!!! The sweater I have on, I thought looked good, OMG, it was awful in pictures! My sweet son told me I absolutely did not look like the picture, but the sweater had to go. My husband took it back. I know that is bad, but I would have NEVER worn it again and it wasn't cheap. Matt manages a Snap Fitness and he is very fit and big. About 6'4 and 220. He assured me I did not look bad, but that's part of his job, to assure women they don't look bad! Oh well! My Taryn has the headband thing on because in November she had her dyed red hair, changed back to her natural blonde hair. The chemicals gave her 3rd degree burns and she has been trying to heal it since. She finally saw a wound specialist and she has to be wrapped all the time. It's in the back of her head about ear level. It's wrapped with an ace bandage under the scarf. The moral of that story is don't go from red hair to blonde! Thank goodness the gal actually got her hair close to her real color so she doesn't even really have any grow out.

OK, now to how  I am doing. I actually was up .2 this AM. I was 140.5. I dropped below 140 about 1 1/2 weeks ago, went right back up and have stayed here. I would be more bummed if I didn't know that the yo-yoing has come back to bite me. I also realize by looking at myfitnesspal, I have been 140 way more days that I have been under that. I can't seem to stay at 135 for any length of time. I have continued with my Zumba, I have continued making good food choices 80 % of the time, so I am doing what I can. I leave next Monday for GA and I am certainly not going to be at my goal of 135!!! Also at this weight, my cheeks are plump and it makes my wrinkles less visible! I am really trying to find the good in this!!! I turn 56 on Thursday and I have a lot going on this week food wise.  I am giving myself a break from obsessing. We are going shopping this afternoon and I may just try and find a better fitting jean so I don't have a fat roll. UGH!!!

Our weather has been gloomy and rainy. I got my sun chair out and enjoyed the sun for 2 days before it got crappy. My husband put the sun chair away yesterday and said it was jinxing the weather. His last day of work was last Friday and he is a very happy man! I am happy to have him around, he truly does make my life easier.

  1. Great pictures - you have such a good looking family. I have to admit, the sweater didn't even strike me as not looking good - probably because I have a pretty similar one in black and white in my closet - HA!!! Great minds think alike, right?!?! Happy 25th Birthday to your twins (doesn't time fly?)!!!

I would LOVE to be your weight but I do know how you feel. My tummy (and boobs) have been the hardest to see a weight loss in yet. I hate the "fat roll" - ugh! I don't see it in lose fitting pants or my workout shorts but in my jeans, its still there somewhat - ugh!

I hope you have a WONERFUL and BEAUTIFUL birthday - just...like... you and I'm so excited for you and your upcoming trip!!!!

    1. You are too sweet and kind:) It's funny because I was looking back through my blog last year at this time and I also tried a striped sweater, with the same results!!!

  2. Hi Kay!
It sounds like maybe 140 is your magic number. The question is, are you happy with that number??? Not that I have arrived at my goal or anything but sometimes I think we overshoot what our bodies want us to be at and they tell us,via the scale, where we really should be. I think you look great, no matter if you are 135 or 140...or more. You have a smile that lights up the room! Have a wonderful day and birthday week!!!
    Love Sherri

  3. Maybe like me you just really need to do the crunchies/and /or pushups to build the core? I keep thinking that if I could just get into a good routine and do those two exercises daily that I'd be able to flatten my tummy enough. have a good night!

  4. I'm where you're at in that the weight number doesn't really matter it's the belly fat that I want gone! I bought hand weights yesterday and will see what I can do with them. I believe carrying them through the store and up to the check out counter was my exercise for yesterday! I'm also attracted to striped shirts/sweaters - what's with that?
I love your family pictures especially when you catch them smiling:)
    Happy Birthday this Thursday Kay!

  5. Kay, it looks like you had a lovely time with your family. I think you look pretty in the sweater, although I have always avoided horizontal stripes at all costs. hang in there you will eventually get back to 135. XO!

  7. I love the pictures and you really don't look bad as you think. We are always harder on ourselves in pictures.
That is too funny about the wrinkles. When my weight is up a couple lbs I THINK I see my hips fatter. LOL - From just a couple lbs. Its probably all in my head. My weight fluctuates between 5lbs all the time. I have just learned to not be like its the end-of-the-world now. It was hard and took time. I think you look awesome just the way you are. :-)
