We went to the Texas Roadhouse last Thursday and I ate peanuts, peanuts, and more peanuts...before, during, and after our meal. I loved cracking the peanuts and eating the yummy crunchy nut! I thought I had my fill for awhile until we went to 5 Guys Burger today. I ate peanuts, before, during, and after our meal. Seriously...tons of peanuts. Ugh! I finally get my Zumba back on in time to eat 1000's of calories in peanuts! Dang....
The moral of this story is that we all have our trigger foods! Peanuts appear to be mine right now. On the smart front, I only ate the bottom bun from my burger!
I am so glad to be back to Zumba. It feels so good and I didn't even have to take tylenol after my workout today. That means I am getting back in the groove! I am loving my "invisibelt", it is holding my pants up and I don't have saggy ass, I am loving having my husband home because we have fun together. Oh and I loved going to my reunion Friday night. It was a lot of fun and it feels good to reconnect with people. My husband did go with me and I think he actually had a good time. None of the gals that I hang out with went for whatever reason. I find it interesting and fun that I may not have been very nice 37 years ago, but I am now:) If I do say so myself of course.
I know some of you are eating the flax muffins, I just can't acquire the taste for them. Personally I think they are very high in calories once you start adding the good tasting things to them. I know, I'm being Negative Nelly. I have about 2 cups of almond flour left to try some pancakes with. I need to get some good coconut flour to try the muffin that way.
I agree with Rosalie when she says that we have to do something that we can do forever. I feel like the only thing that I have really given up at this point is goodies, real sugar goodies....although I did have an unfrosted shortbread shamrock cookie yesterday. It was quite tasty. Like I said....good think I am finally back to exercising!
Blessings and happy scales:)
Here's a recipe idea that hubby and I loved....I had some petite sirloin steaks that had been frozen for a long time and they hadn't been very tender when we got them. I put them in a crock pot with stew seasoning and cooked them all day. They were pull apart tender and yummy. I used the shredded steak to make quesidilla's (sp) with Monteray Jack cheese and salsa. Yummy!!! I know people love those high fiber tortillas. Just another idea from the woman who rarely cooks!
One more thing...I have been waiting for the free shipping code to order my coconut oil from this site:
ReplyDeletehttp://www.tropicaltraditions.com/virgin_coconut_oil.htm
They had it today, the code is 12153. I also ordered some coconut flour from them. 2 1/2 lbs...eek...I hope I like it better!
I would say you are quite the cook. You keep coming up with some great ideas. I do love the flaxseed muffin, but I've stopped adding the nuts, to it because it does make it high calorie. I for one have to be aware and careful with high calorie stuff. Sending love and hugs!
ReplyDeleteI do love peanuts too. I am glad that your husband went with you to the reunion. I'm sure it was fun.
ReplyDeleteThat was a great idea for the steaks. Have a great day :-)
I like the coconut flour muffin more than the flax muffin. I hope you find that to be true for you as well, especially after ordering so much of it. ;)
ReplyDeleteI know right....2 1/2 lbs! I didn't realize that was how much I was getting until I reviewed the order:( It will keep in the freezer won't it? That's where I have my flax flour? I need lots of coconut flour recipes:)
DeleteI like the flaxseed muffin a lot too, but that's all I eat for breakfast so I don't think it's too bad calorie wise. I MUST get one of those invisibelts. I'm always tugging my pants up, but I don't think I'm ready for the next pant size down because they would be too snug and then... muffin top. The invisibelt sounds like the perfect solution. Do I have to order it online or did you find it in a store?
ReplyDeleteBeth, I got mine at a little boutique, but I paid 24.00 for it and it is only 20.00 online. Honestly, it is like a miracle! It really is just a piece of clear plastic, but it is totally flat under your clothes. Love it!
DeleteI love peanuts too! Sometimes they are definitely my downfall. :) I am getting my exercise back, too. That is the thing that is most missing in my diet, for sure. I love the flax muffin for breakfast, but I've never had a hard time eating 400 calories for breakfast, especially when there is so much fiber. It takes away any snack that I might want, and it also holds me over until late lunch. Maybe I should start eating them for lunch, too, because I'm having trouble with my early afternoon again. Would that be too much flax? LOL. Anyhow, I am glad you are doing well! I can't wait until school lets up, I'd love to plan to meet up!
ReplyDeleteI would love to meet up too. For 293 calories I have a potato, egg and 2 pieces of sausage! And I can have a cutie orange to go with it. See what I am saying? It is less fiber though so to each his own. I think the coconut flour is high in calories too and I just ordered a lot of it! Ugh! I need to pay more attention to what I am doing.
DeleteLOL Kay! I know, huh?!? I am happy girl with my peanut butter and chocolate muffin with 11 grams of fiber. I'm wondering what kind of sausage you use, to keep that whole meal under 300 calories, though. wow!
DeleteNot quite sure how long it's going to take you to get through that much coconut flour. COme up here and I'll split it with you. :)
Those little salty nuggets are delicious.
ReplyDelete...glad you had fun at your reunion.
